Difference In Saftey Razors

Tips, tricks and tips for finding a home in London

Italians I have seen houses that you can not even imagine.

from another country, in our case from Italy, internet information about rooms for rent is one thing, being here in London and having to really look for is another.
In this post, which is meant to be serious but it will be difficult, here are some tips and tricks to avoid the mistakes that we did, anxious to speed up this research and why not, to find a better location.
From what is my personal experience I do not recommend you to choose a room found on the Internet without having gone to see it for some simple reasons:
- often the photos are not really true or not show the condition of the house, or are of the nineteenth
century - the area should be visited
very carefully - you'll definitely questions to ask about matters which are not covered in the ad
- there are serious chance of being cheated

These are the parameters to consider when choosing a room:
- the price, of course
- cleaning, not only the room but most of the bathroom and kitchen
- the district (district) of London, the crime rate
- Areas (the more you are away from Zone 1, which is the City, plus a subscription to a metro and bus salt)
- as it is served by public transport ( the closer you are to a metro station better)

For the quarter, the only thing on the Internet and inform them about the same quiet, the tenants will tell you more "It's quiet, it's safe even if you saw kids coming in with guns running bike (where we were before http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peckham_Boys ).
also estimate a tour around will make you understand where you have found a minimum, the shops near you, pubs etc..
find a list of neighborhoods in which we talk about security here:
http://www.thelondonlink.net/index.php/Guida-alle-zone -of-London /
At this link you will find a map of crime police officer in London:
http://maps.met.police.uk

With regard to the area is very important distance to the metro, in our case before we were in Zone 2 (in theory closer to the center) but far from the metro station, now we are in Zone 3 to a minute from the bus stop and in time we are much closer to the center now. To address this
find the map of Metro Areas with indicated they belong to:

And here we are finally a to do list of steps to follow to make more effective and productive our research:

  1. just landed in London, get a sim with a local number, so be more likely to be recalled. There is absolutely no need to go to a store official indeed, to our limited experience does not even have to sell sim free phones cellullari. Rather than go in the first shop where you see displayed sim and choose an operator of your choice, usually with the 5 pound've dug. Even better with a pound if you find a vending machine sim like the one we found, somewhat 'hidden in Victoria Station (in this post speak in detail of the story). Buy Now recharge (top up) and you have your beautiful English number working perfectly now.

  2. put an ad on these sites (if you have others do to report and update the list) to write what type of room you need, for how long, How many of you and in what area you are interested in possibly.

probably the best in terms of quantity, I strongly suggest you to leave this for your research (there is also a section to search for work)
    - http : / / www.flatshare.co.uk
in terms of quality seems good, surely there are less than Gumtree ads.
ads arrive by mail only after you have set your search criteria. (In practice, there spamming bad)
on this site, you are many, the problem is that a newly registered user base (basic member) may contact only paying members (premium member). The paying members can contact everyone, but prices start at around £ 10.
we found the last, but we felt it was very good. In addition, the response rate seems much higher than the others.

  3. find some good ads and make an appointment. How? Absolutely not for email, the majority is not responding. The best way is to look for ads with phone number or cell phone and call, possibly from many UK, otherwise you may not be called or not to receive any response. If you have problems with language (like ours:) ) Write a text in which you ask for an appointment.
Council: spammed strong, very strong indeed . Do not be too much trouble! Contact
dozens of numbers, less than half able to set appointments to see houses. Indeed
in London on the rental market is very fast, almost brutal: it is possible that one day the house has already been taken. So, if your ad will be interesting, make an appointment as soon as possible.
  4. When they finally manage to go see an apartment and you are satisfied with the house, location, price, etc.. inquire about these things:
    - the minimum period (usually 3 months) where you have to stay there if you do not respect you usually lose your deposit
    - if the price includes the various bills and council tax (obligatory tax for apartments)
  5. If everything is to your liking and you do not notice anything abnormal Do not hesitate: blocked as soon as possible the house, someone else might be ready to blow.
And finally watch out for scams, we were contacted by several people that brought us good apartments but that in order to make an appointment, we asked for a trial in which proved to have the money to pay using Western Union Money Transfer to move money from one person to another of our knowledge. Of course they are crooks, if you ask for money or evidence of the kind before we see a mysterious apartment close communication!

Italians, Have a good luck!
